On Saturday Feb. 20, 2010 at approx. 0030, Co. 13 was dispatched as 2nd due and RIT to the 3200blk of Stewartsville Road to assist Co. 8 (Moneta) for a chimney fire that was upgraded to a structure fire response. E-13 (w/6) arrived and per command splits its crew and went to work with Division 1 and the other assumed Roof Division. R-13 (w/5) arrived and established the RIT. Shortly after arriving, command (Cheek) advised the fire had been contained to the fireplace and wall area behind the fireplace. Command then had R-13's crew to terminate the RIT assignment and relieve the division 1 crew on the interior. R-13's crew worked for about 30 minutes on the interior removing the bricks from the interior of the fireplace and extinguishing the rest of the active fire. Co. 13 units took up around 0215. Co. 13 units operating on scene: E-13, R-13, and T-13. Co. 8 units on scene: W-8, W-82, W-83, T-8, and RS-2 (Hawkins).
