At 21:10 Bedford communications alerted Co.13, Sq 4, Sq 13 and Bedford County Special Operations Command to the intersection of Goodview road and Thomasson Mill road for a reported vehicle accident with vehicle over a 30 foot embankment. R-13(w/5) arrived first to find one SUV on its side off the road over a 10 foot bank, Deputy Chief 13 (A.Dooley) established the command. R-13's crew went to work on stabilizing the vehicle. E-13 arrived (w/4) and aided the rescue on the upcoming extrication. Command advised communications that R-13 / E-13 could handle and to cancel R-1(Bedford) and R-8 which were responding as well. Crews cut the roof of the SUV to gain access to the driver, once complete crews packaged the patient and turned patient care over to awaiting EMS. Units on scene controlled traffic until the wrecker removed the vehicle. Co.13 operated for about 1.5 hours. Total Co.13 personnel on scene: 9
