Wednesday, August 19, 2009 - At 16:30 hours Co 8 (Moneta) 1st due, Co 13 (2nd due and RIT) and Sq 8 were dispatched to Foster's Valley Road for a reported structure fire. Moneta's Wagon 82 was first to arrive to find a 2 story wood frame structure with heavy smoke showing from all sides and marked the call a working fire and requested a tanker task force. Wagon 13 (w/6) arrived behind Wagon 8 and dropped it's crew off at the fire ground and per operations (Mayhew) was to reverse lay out 600 feet of 5" LDH hose to the main roadway and was to relay pump from the incoming tankers to Moneta's wagons. Upon W-13's crew arriving, Moneta's crew made entry into the structure and located the fire but was low on air and turned their hose line over to W-13's crew which made and aggressive attack on the fire and contained the fire to the basement. Rescue 13 arrived behind W-13 and per operations was to vent the roof and to secure utilities. Once the fire was knocked down, Co 8, 13 and 1(Bedford) members worked together to overhaul the structure. Once overhauled, all units units cleared the scene. Units operating: W-82, W-8, W-13, R-13, T-13, W-1, U-1, B-13A, R-8, Sq 8 and Sq 4.
